Sometimes the abstract pieces take on a life of their own, or take me on a journey as I paint and assemble. Something about the repetitive purple shapes of this one had me standing in a field of flowers, listening to Alice Walker's character Shug Avery,from The Color Purple, expound on the nature of God...“I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it..."
