About the Original: 

I might have a bit of a problem...I can't stop painting poppies. This one is on a larger scale. I love the way they gradate from red through orange. I love the gather at the center and the way the petals seem to twirl out its delicate ruffles...like a full skirt on a dance floor. That's the feeling I've tried to capture in this multi-layered acrylic piece. Varying layers of opacity and pigmentation add depth and movement, and I can only hope you find it as compelling as I do.
